We put them in rest homes, we kinda kick them under the rug and make believe they don't exist. They [the people in Vienna] don't feel like that. In a lot of these older places in the world, they value their older people and their older people feel they can still be a part of the community and I thought: This is a terrific idea - that old people are useful -and that means I don't have to worry so much about getting old because I can still have a use in this world in my old age. I thought "Vienna waits for you..."

Happy Hallo WIEN!!

Get it?! Baha. That's what people will say here to be funny.

People in Vienna (and all of Europe for that matter) don't really celebrate Halloween. And if they do, very few people dress up and just go out partying. If they dress up, it's always something terrifying and never something goofy or creative like people will do in America...

And this explains why we got the strangest looks in the world.

TOURISTS!! Technically we are residents here...so it works right?! :)

On Halloween night we went to the institute and carved pumpkins and had pumpkin soup, then went over to Kiersten and Lindsay's host family's house for a Halloween party!

Blogging has unfortunately been neglected on my to-do list for the past couple of weeks...pictures from Germany and Czech Republic coming soon!!! :)
